With the local papers and national magazines filled with articles on the inefficiency, waste and corruption that have wasted billions aimed for helping poverty stricken people and cities, it seems appalling that the Skinker-DeBaliviere Youth Council proposal discussed in this issue has to go scrounging around for funds.
"You might, as well be living, in the city!"
We have had another instance of a person seeking conventional financing for a home in our area and again coming up against a blank wall.
Recent reports indicate that St. Louis will be obtaining special federal funds because it is a city whose residents have fled the central city with unusual speed.
Dear Santa: For Skinker-DeBaliviere Residents: especially to the good neighbors and considerate businessmen who financed this issue, the happiest of New Years.
The problem of loans, mortgages and financing for city property has not changed since the last issue.
Recently my husband and I decided to buy a beautiful old home in the Skinker-DeBaliviere area.
THE PAPER, despite its new look (thanks to artists, Pat & Bill Kohn), is in a state of crisis.
THE PAPER would like to thank the congregation of Delmar Baptist Church for voting to stay in the neighborhood.
Again we get the news that Hamilton School is to have a new principal - the fourth in five years.
