Several weeks ago Liz Pund came to work at the SDCC as the Community Engagement Coordinator.

She had been interested in a community-oriented job. Away from the St. Louis area since high school, she had returned a year and a half ago and had wanted a job involving community development.

Her background has prepared her for her new position.

She is a graduate of Parkway Central and then attended Case-Western Reserve in Cleveland where she studied psychology and sociology.

From there, she moved to Boston where she managed office operations and internal community relations for the Cambridge Innovation Center, an office community of start-ups and small businesses.

Then she volunteered in St. Louis as a summer community organizer for Organizing for America.

Following this position, she moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina where she lived and worked for two years.

She was interested in the job with the SDCC because Skinker-DeBaliviere is a very active, involved community.

She said that “the residents take a very active role in shaping the neighborhood” and that this makes all things possible. Skinker DeBaliviere “is one of the more relevant places to be in the city.” We are walkable, connected and neighborly.

She is excited about helping the neighbors achieve their goals.

In August, she will move to an apartment at 59xx Kingsbury.
