Activities this summer were not on a weekly Den Meeting basis but on a more individual selection basis. Peter Watkins and Rodrigo Sanchez had a week at Webelas Camp at Beaumont which they enjoyed very much. Seven other boys went to the Adventure Day Camp in Forest Park for a week. This was a well staffed, well planned camp and the boys did many things which were credited toward their Wolf or Bear Awards. Every boy who was in town went to the Cardinal baseball game July 18. The tickets were not the usual general admissions knot-hole ones but good, reserved seats which the Cardinals had given the B.S. Council for re-registering troops and packs.
Kick-off for fall is the annual Watermelon Feast, August 29 on the patio at Grace Methodist Church, Waterman and Skinker, 7:30 in the evening. Boys with parents come to enjoy the watermelon and get into Dens. The Scout Skill Show will be in October and it is time to get going on it.
Any boy 8, 9, or 10 years old is invited to come to the meeting-party with a parent to take a look at the grogram and join up if he is interested.
