The Sisters and Brothers of the Aquarian Community Center
Perhaps you have already noticed the increasing activity at the corner of Pershing and Des Peres. The large building on the southwest corner used to house the Morning Dew Natural Foods Store and Hammond’s Market.
The building has new owners now and is called the “Aquarian Community Center.” Like the Yoga Center of St. Louis and Morning Glory Ashram (which you may already be acquainted with) it is a service of the Universal Great Brotherhood, whose aim it is to bring together the diverse energies of groups and individuals working toward essentially the same goal – a happier, healthier life for everyone.
As the name tells it, we are a Community Center and will respond to the needs of the local neighborhood, trying to bring in some fresh air and new approaches.
We hope to re-open the grocery store sometime in January. It will be called “Leo’s General Store” and will fill the bill as a neighborhood market.
Also, we intend to carry organic supplies (grains, seeds, dried fruit, etc.), herbal teas, arts and crafts, and a small delicatessan. That’s a lot! but it will do much to liven up the area and we’re hoping for your support.
Also beginning in January there will be classes in dancing, astrology, cooking, the I-Ching, and Hatha Yoga classes. (There will be one for children, too.) The classes are open to all, so stop by and check on the times.
A free clinic specializing in chiropractic health is an idea still on the drawing board.
The Aquarian Community Center not only has it’s doors open to the neighborhood, but it’s ears and heart as well. Drop by sanetime and let us know how you feel about what the Center could be. Better yet, put some energy into it yourself and make it happen!
Each Sunday morning at ten o’clock we hold a small devotional service to raise our spirits. You are welcome to stop by and share your presence with us.
PAX! (PEACE!)
