As a longtime member of the Commercial Committee, I have been thrilled by the transformation of Delmar east of Skinker.
My only regret has been that there is no store that caters to our daily needs. Perhaps my wish may come true.
There are proposals to create a farmers’ market on the north side of Delmar where we could purchase locally grown produce and perhaps other fine things as well.
It would be a place for neighbors to meet and to obtain items not that easily available and hopefully at better quality.
I am hoping this idea finds financing and is not relegated to the dustbin of faded dreams. Our Committee would be ebullient if this idea were to come to fruition and I hope that all of you would be as well.
We have also been happy to learn that Washington University is sponsoring a Retail Study which will have as its goal the production of market analysis and data to give to prospective tenants of the great spaces along the entire stretch of Delmar.
The study will also include data on DeBaliviere, very timely considering the upcoming Greenway and Trolley activity.
