Surveys of residential and commercial areas designated for redevelopment under the Neighborhood Development Incentive Program have been completed in the Skinker-DeBaliviere area.
Within the Skinker-DeBaliviere area there are approximately 2,500 children ranging from ages six to thirteen (the combined enrollment of Hamilton and St. Roch's schools.) Perhaps there are half again that many in the fourteen to nineteen age group; no figures are available.

The Skinker-DeBaliviere Neighborhood Information Center is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 6008 Kingsbury.
Cal Stuart, Skinker-DeBaliviere executive director, said that the council's resource committee has been considering programs that block clubs could sponsor, such as softball teams, block parties and planned recreation for younger children.
An area - wide clean - up is scheduled in May if the SDCC has enough volunteers to launch the campaign.
