She is the oldest of 9 children in her family.

She has a background in business and is a people person.

She presented her development strategy to the group.

Her proposed strategy aims to transform the SDCC into a more effective advocate and champion for the SD Neighborhood by building a unified brand and establishing robust infrastructure. By focusing on these areas, the SDCC will enhance its community engagement, operational effectiveness, and overall impact, fulfilling its mission to serve and promote the neighborhood and improve the quality of life for its residents.

Her main priorities in the next 6 months are to set standards and identity for the SDCC.

She plans on working in the office 10-3:30 Monday and Wednesday and 10-3pm one Saturday per month.

She will attend the monthly board meetings Public Comment: Dan Hudspeth announced as Rosedale Neighbors President he is willing to donate Rosedale funds to the SDCC.

He will consult with his current board members.

He will then communicate with Tracy and Victoria with specific details.

He would like to keep Rag to Riches going as a way for neighbors to connect.

He would also like to support the Summer Concert series Financials: Yvette reported that finances were solid and dues were paid.

She shared the financial report with the board by email before the meeting. Quickbooks still needs some untangling and she would like to take down our current Quickbooks and have a fresh slate in January 2025. Friends campaign should be restarting soon. Dog Park funds are not accurate.

Some expressed concerns that businesses were not contributing enough. Dan Hudspeth reported that SDCC used to do a “Letter of Ask” to neighborhood businesses. Porchfest: Event is close and main needs now are volunteers for day of event. 40 music acts have committed and 35 porches. Foodtruck MooBile and Beer Outside are committed. Snarfs

will donate 100 sandwiches and Pretzel Boys 100 pretzels. Tim Woodcock noted that it was helpful to get food/drink settled early in the planning process Upcoming concert with Brothers Lazaroff will be Friday Oct 25th SDHC/SDCC meeting 9/5/2024: Tracy reported that it went well and was really an introductory/information sharing meeting.

All members of the Housing Corps were present including Gary Boehnke, Paul Homan, Eric Friesen, Alice Stanley, Richard Bose, Tony Smith. SDCC board members present were Tracy Granneman, Molly Rater, Yvette Kell, Jim Holzer, Karen and Jeff Stokes Some key take away points: Background of housing Corps was reviewed with the original intent to be the “developer of last resort” Circumstances have changed with properties selling quickly above asking price in SD.

They have a city charter and not one with SDCC.

They are having financial difficulties and are not able to do major purchases any more. Their source of income now is rental properties to support Gary’s salary.

They are “asset rich and cash poor”. Suggestion made by SDCC board member for them to use funds for home improvements rather than buying properties.

They reported that this has not been successful in the past with minimal applications. Issue may have been lack of trust Housing Corps members not interested in merging with SDCC or sharing resources like a mutual Executive Director Gary stated they have been approached by other organizations for merger.

He also stated that he planned to retire soon. Mike Stephens suggested at tonight’s meeting that they sell their properties, dissolve the committee and give proceeds to SDCC. Molly suggested that board members attend each other’s meetings for transparency. FBD: No progress with minimal staffing in the City Zoning Committee. Tracy and Nicole will be meeting with Mary Hart Burton on September 18th. Committee Reports: Beautification Committee report: Rags to Riches was on Aug 24.

It was a successful day with 8 vendors on the McPherson /Skinker lot and 29 front yard sales + a few unregistered yards as well. Thank you to Grace Methodist and to Washington U for loaning the parking lot to us & thank you to the volunteers who worked at the SD information table. Special thank you to Nick Stefani for tabulting the vendors and making the maps.

This was a difficult project to do without any staff in the SDCC office.

We are so happy to have Victoria on board now. Gene Cross & I cleared the Rosedale at Kingsbury barricade of weeds, dust & debris and repainted the yellow curbs there.

We also cleared the Rosedale at Westminster barricade and repainted those curbs.

The Westminster barricade is well maintained by neighbors.

The Kingsbury barricade was overgrown with weeds but is often maintained by neighbors as well.

It probably will be a while before the street dept fixes the Rosedale at McPherson barricade’s bent metal post so we may look into a way to fix it ourselves.

We painted the Kingsbury yellow curbs earlier, just after the drag race collision. Neighbor Josh Peck and I are working on a way to make an “Historic Home” with a date on it for Skinker DeBaliviere homes.

We are exploring materials and ways to make a plaque which is unique to our neighborhood. Historic Committee: No report Commercial Districts Committee: Next Zoom meeting will be Wednesday at noon. New businesses presenting will be House of Jolif and Euphoria Kitchen. JoAnna and Shameem reported that former SDCC board member Dave Mastin died on August 29th and services will be Sept 14th Security committee: August and September meeting minutes will post to SDCC website under committee reports Meeting adjourned at 8:19 pm Minutes submitted 9/11/2024 by Molly Rater, SDCC Board Secretary
