She was not aware of the problem until the leaking had been going on for a few days.
She called Gary and he suggested she call the Property Management Company (that no one on Board knew we had).
It was eventually fixed by the city but Tracy is concerned about the musty smell from the basement affecting air quality in the office. No property of the SDCC was damaged but some of the SDHDC files got wet and will need to be removed. Tracy reported that there was a dehumidifier in the basement but not sure how well it was working. Mike Stephens made a motion to send a letter to Gary Boenkhe asserting that he as landlord was responsible for safety of building for his tenants (SDCC). Jim Holzer seconded that motion and the motion carried. Mike Stephens will draft the letter.
He would like a copy of the lease first. Form Based District: Approval was stalled with the city for several months but has been active recently.
The SDCC FBD may be a prototype for a city wide FBD.
There is also a discussion about a city wide FBD that would override all other Form Based Districts. AnnaMarie Bliss has been asked by the city to look at the document-may affect historic ordinances/need for variances. City asserted that the Historic District had never given their approval on the FBD (before AnnaMarie was on the Historic District Committee).
The city is requesting an editable version of the FBD and H3 has asked us to sign a release allowing this and ending our relationship. Tracy suggested that the SDCC take itself out of financial activities like this in the future due to potential liability. SDCC playground: Kevin Koeing is the point person and has been in contact with the city parks department and they have been very responsive. Playground is old and in need of repair.
The materials are old so need to be replaced, not repaired. New materials are being used for playgrounds now.
The cost for a new playground would be 200-300,
000. 25% should come from ward funds and 75% from city funds in 2025. Kevin plans on talking to Shameem about this. Board Commitments: Tracy announced at the last meeting that she will be stepping down as President after 2 years of service.
She will stay involved with the board and the SD community.
