Please Note That Our Menu Has Changed — St. Vincent De Paul Assistance(英文)

此内容暂无简体中文译文,以下为英文原文。

Historical November–December 2024 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

With the onset of the winter holidays, many turn their thoughts to the needs of our less fortunate neighbors. Many people in need would call one of the local churches to seek help. Regrettably, St. Roch church is no longer able to render assistance.

However, many resources St. Roch offered are still available.

These services are provided by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP). Those in need just need to call a different number:(314) 289-6101 ext. 1177, instead of the church rectory.

This will connect the caller with a recording.

The call will be returned in a couple of days. What can the caller expect from such a call? First of all, they will be contact by a local neighborhood volunteer.

The Society was originally founded to bring food to needy homes, but the mission has expanded over the last150 years.

It still provides food.

There are several great food banks in the area, but if one is housebound, the Society can deliver some food. Vouchers are available for those with dietary restrictions that call for items not found in local food pantries.

In addition to food, Vincentians can often help with other problems. Depending on its financial resources (the Society depends on individual donations), help can be found for utility problems or or other issues.

Some help is available for funeral arrangements.

On many occasions, even if they cannot offer direct assistance, the Vincentians can help those in need to locate resources.

If someone has encountered an obstruction in their life, this is a group that can assist in overcoming that obstacle. Although this is a Catholic charity, religious preference is not a condition to receive assistance. Your may not be in need of these services now, but we hope you will spread this information to you neighbors that can use us.
