Skinker DeBaliviere neighbor Andy Cross recently contributed to the National Cancer Society’s 42 Doors of Hope Campaign that raises awareness and funds for the Hope Lodge, a place where families can stay free of charge in the Central West End while their loved ones are undergoing cancer treatment in St. Louis. Per the cancer society’s website, ‘As part of the Hope is Home initiative, the society has partnered with local artists to create 42 doorways, symbolizing the 42 guest suites available at the new facility.’ Andy painted his door in honor of his friend and St. Roch choir director Keith Ballentine who has been undergoing extensive cancer treatment while still composing music and directing the musical faith journey. Andy’s door can be viewed at CareSTL, 5471 Dr. Martin Luther King Dr. St. Louis, MO 63112 and is entitled A Gift of Hope and Peace.
