Dear Friends, Hello to the residents and friends of the Skinker DeBaliviere neighborhood: First let me say, I am really excited to be a part of your community! Thank you for the courtesy and interest you have showed to me and the Skinker DeBaliviere Community Council.
It has been wonderful for me to meet with you at your homes, businesses and the SDCC office and hear your thoughts about our community.
I want to thank you for your generous support and tell you about some of the developments in the neighborhood.
We are in the process of revitalizing SDCC Committees. Committee chairs have been actively communicating with me regarding ways to enhance their efforts to better serve the neighborhood.
The SDCC is progressively more visible in the area and actively working with DeBaliviere Place Association, the Commercial District, 7th District Police Department and developers.
We welcome our new neighbor Pulaski Bank who has been partnering with the SDCC office on several community projects. Thank you to the neighborhood churches and schools for coming together and helping develop the summer concert, and planning future events as Youth Unite Productions for youth in our neighborhood ages 11-18 years old. Washington University has been increasingly helpful to the SDCC office with student volunteers and interns to help automate and reorganize the office. Special thanks to Steve Hoffner and Cheryl Adelstein for their time, expertise and support. Elections are coming up and we will soon have new Executive Committee members and a few new board members.
We thank past and current SDCC board members for their continuous dedication and support of the community and SDCC office.
To those of you who have volunteered your time to cook and serve food during events, renovating the SDCC office, cashier, work through the evening and weekend hours and share your energy and creative ideas, THANK YOU!
It is people like you who truly make the Skinker DeBaliviere Community a better place to live.
The holiday days are upon us and I wish everyone a safe, peaceful and prosperous new year.
Please remember to call my office with your concerns, questions and ideas. Best regards, Darcell Braylock, Executive Director, Skinker DeBaliviere Community Council (314) 862-5122 Office (314) 862-5133 Fax Email: dbraylocksdcc@sbcglobal. net Office Email: skinkerd@stlouis. missouri.org
