On June 28, a number of neighbors came together at the backyards of the Vatchas and the Greens to show their support for the Times, welcome new neighbors.
It was a lovely evening for a garden party, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
A number of Times stalwarts contributed desserts and hor d’oeuvres.
Some new neighbors appeared, including new business neighbors Julie, Frank, and Jason from Kayak’s Coffee, soon to appear on Skinker. Also, Kate Klimut, our TIMES layout pro, who lives in the Shaw Neighborhood, became a Skinker-deBalivierite for the evening. Many others of varying residential length provided continuity.
The Times tries to have one of these gatherings every year and hopes even more neighbors will join in next time.
The Times is all-volunteer run and relies on advertising and fundraising to cover costs.
Following is a list of all those who helped out this summer. Thanks to all our volunteers and contributors, the party raised sufficient funds for three issues – Excellent!
