On December 13, once again the neighbors and friends of the Skinker DeBaliviere community will come together to host a Holiday Appreciation Luncheon for the police officers and firefighters who serve our community. And once again, the sponsors of this holiday bash, the Skinker DeBaliviere Community Council, ask each of you to consider bringing a dish and/or spending some time as neighborhood hosts/hostesses as while we welcome these dedicated men and women to our table. For seven years now, the Council has held an open house from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. during the December holiday season.
On that day, a nearly full complement of police officers from the Seventh District pass through the Council doors, to be welcomed by neighborhood residents who provide a festive and bounteous buffet of home-cooked goodies and desserts for those who give so much to our neighborhood. Sign up to bring a vegetable, salad, starch or dessert. And plan to spend a little time either behind the buffet table or meeting and greeting our guests.
This neighborhood event provides a good way for newcomers to meet long-time residents as well as the police and firefighters who protect us all. Questions?
Call the Skinker DeBaliviere Community Council office at 862-5122.
