New City School students, teachers, and parents soon will be enjoying a new theater space called “Founders’ Hall.” It will be a site for performances and plays and also for presenting classroom projects and exhibitions.
This renovation was made possible by leadership gifts of John and Alison Ferring and the generosity of many others.
The facility will be air-conditioned and may be used for neighborhood meetings. New City also has received a foundation grant of $1,000,000 to be used for capital improvements such as tuckpointing, installing central air, and replacement of windows and doors.
In the meantime, educators from all around the U.S. and some from other nations visit New City to learn more about its innovative learning programs. Next year, New City will host a conference on educational theory.
