Historical June 1991 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

Recently the homes of two Skinker DeBaliviere families were featured in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch—the Ellerson’s and the Hoerr’s. Skinker-DeBaliviere residents Sharon and Anthony Ellerson of the 5700 block of Waterman were featured on Sunday. May 5th, in the Style section, and again in the Postscripts section later that week. Anthony Ellerson felt that his wife had done an excellent job of decorating their home, and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch apparently agreed.

The article featured several photos of their home, including one of the Ellerson family. Sharon, Anthony and Tony, in their beautifully decorated living room.

The article did not state that the Ellersons reside in SkinkerDeBaliviere, however many neighbors recognized the picture of their home.

The Ellersons have proven themselves to be true urban pioneers. They’ve repainted, stripped wood, replaced windows, and landscaped their home since moving into the Skinker-DeBaliviere neighborhood in 1985. Sharon Ellerson is a nurse, and Anthony a computer analyst. Their son Tony attends Mason Magnet school. Longtime residents Tom and Karleen Hoerr were featured in the Real Estate section on April 26. Displayed were photos of their sun room, the “unique” kitchen, and interesting clock collection. Karleen Hoerr is a real estate agent for Feinberg Realty and past president of the Skinker DeBaliviere Community Council.

Her husband Tom is the headmaster at New City School, and noted “In Your Ear” columnist for the Times.
