It’s spring again and the weatherman is telling everyone to open their windows. Do it, but remember, make sure to close them when you leave the house. Don’t leave ground floor windows wide open at night—that’s an invitation to burglars. Secure them so that they’ll only open five inches.

Please get organized. Form those block units and neighborhood associations. Several neighborhoods are organizing steering column collar installations.
If your group—it could be your neighborhood association, or your church, or your club—wants to volunteer a half-day and some volunteers, we can get collars from the distributor for $25.00 and you can put them on for your friends and neighbors. Call us at 622-3444 and we can help you set it up. It’s nearing the end of the school year. Adults and children alike will have a much more peaceful summer if we start to plan now. Right now is the time to make a plan with your kids for the summer. Find out what’s available for them and for you to make it an active happy summer. Call the school for ideas about camp, summer school or call the library, boy’s club, girl’s club and recreation center. Start a garden, start a hobby, hire a kid…Be a volunteer for Operation Teamwork (361-0015) or “adopt” a neighbor kid for a weekly outing.
We talk about how bad drugs are—but we need to give kids an alternative. Let’s do something for our kids before there is a problem. Let us know what you’re doing and we’ll share the idea.
