The State Energy Assistance Program will be taking applications for heat assistance starting Nov. 15, 1983. Emergency situations will be given priority — that is, those whose heat has been cut off, or is in danger of being terminated.

Please call the HDC office at the Sears Building (367-9796) or the DFS office (371-6500) for an appointment. You must bring the following: 1. Proof of age: birth certificate or driver’s license. 2. Unpaid, complete gas or electric bill. 3. Proof of income: Aid or unemployment stubs, payroll stubs, or Social Security award letter. 4. Social Security numbers for household members over sixteen. Aid will be in the form of a one-time payment to the utility company or fuel supplier and may be granted from November 1983 through April 1984, and may be applied for at anytime during that period.

Please call the Skinker-DeBaliviere Community Council (862-5122) any Tuesday morning or Thursday afternoon for further details.
