If you are looking for a school which will provide your child with a strong grounding in the basic skills while helping him develop into a self-reliant, curious individual, you might want to investigate the New City School. Here a child’s individuality is respected as he discovers how to take responsibility for his own learning. At the same time, care is taken to insure that he maintains a high level of academic achievement. The setting is an imaginatively redesigned old building (the former Lutheran High School) at the corner of Lake and Waterman Avenues. Inside you will find children who have discovered that learning can be challenging and fun.
The school tries to maintain racial and social balance in its population of approximately 150 boys and girls. About 20% of the children receive some financial aid. More information can be obtained by calling the office at 361-6411.
