House Tour — 5798 Pershing

April 2008

5798 Pershing, House Tour 2008.

Historical April–May 2008 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

5798 Pershing, 3W, is the apartment of Mark Gorman, who grew up on Pershing and now owns this building and several others on Pershing, Laurel, and Nina Place.

This is not a small efficiency apartment!

It is a spacious, three bedroom, light-filled unit with a sunroom looking out above Forest Park Expressway toward the park.

The large entry hallway and living room have virtually all of the original Craftsman-style woodwork with beamed ceilings.

The stone fireplace repeats the Craftsman motifs as well.

The new kitchen was designed to maintain the style of the rest of the apartment, and the luxurious bath has a whirlpool tub and separate shower.

This sixunit building was built in 1912, W. H. Mills, architect.
