Administrative Director’s Report: David Whiteman reviewed his activities since the November board meeting (see attached). David reviewed documentation required for the 2011 CDA contract. Conflict of Interest Statements were distributed to all board and staff members for signature. David also reviewed the requirements and documentation necessary for SDCC’s recertification as a Community Based Development Organization (CBDO). Forms will be forwarded to all board members (At- Large, Neighborhood, Institutional and Business) and responses are required by December 23. Nomination of Officers: Katrina Stierholz and Michael Noble have agreed to serve another year as president and vice president, respectively. Cheryl Adelstein will present a full slate of officers, and elections will be held, at the January board meeting. Committee Reports: Fundraising Committee: Rachel Boxdorfer reported that upcoming events are “Bowling for the Neighborhood” on MLK and Presidents Days at the Pin-Up Bowl; and the Friends Campaign. Homecoming 2011 is tentative scheduled for October 8, 2011 at Crossroads School – and planning will begin after the first of the year. Residential Committee: Norb Hart reported that the LRA-owned, vacant house at 5780 McPherson is in a serious state of disrepair and is becoming a structural hazard, as well as an eye sore. Several developers have evaluated the building and none have been able to offer a viable proposal for redevelopment.

The Residential and the Historic Review Committees have each deliberated and voted to request that the city demolish the building and make the site available for a new structure. Paul Hales made a motion that SDCC formally request the demolition of the building, Michael Noble seconded, and the motion carried. MLK Commemoration Committee: Liz Johnson reported that Judge Jimmy Edwards will speak on “Is the Dream Still Alive” at this year’s MLK Commemoration at Grace and Peace Fellowship. The draft was favorable received and several modifications were proposed and discussed.

A final draft will be presented for adoption at the January board meeting. New Business: Illegal dumping continues to be an issue in the dumpsters and the alleys. Additionally, what appears to be an on-thestreet auto repair enterprise in the 26th Ward will be reported to the Neighborhood Stabilization Officer.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:44 PM.
