New On Delmar — Sole Survivor

February 2005

Historical February–March 2005 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

Shortly after the Pageant building went up, this long standing tenant of Euclid Avenue moved West. Sole Survivor is owned by Steve Rye and his wife Kay, and they have just completed a renovation of their store in September, 2004.

The current specialty is belts and buckles (including customized) along with t-shirts.

However, they will soon carry a line of deerskin articles, including clothing such as skirts, tops, wraps, jackets, and shorts, along with hand bags.

Also in the offering will be leather purses, handbags, and briefcases.

To complement the popular customized belts & buckles, Sole Survivor also offers personalized shirts and bracelets.

The owners have another store in Belleville and will soon operate mall carts in selected area locations. Sole Survivor has done numerous jobs for performers at the Pageant, both for themselves and for those on the performer’s gift list.

They also carry “screen saver” buckles which can show up to 6 different messages. Sole Survivor is located at 6161
