Aquarian Center Changes Name

April 1978

After April 2, 1978, the Aquarian Community Center, located at 6002 Pershing, will be known as the Yoga Center of St. Louis. This change is the result of a merger between the Aquarian Center and the Yoga Center, which recently lost its lease at its former location on south Big Bend.

Both centers are affiliates of the Universal Great Brotherhood which owns the building housing the Aquarian Center.

In fact, it was due to money raised at the Yoga Center that the purchase of the building was made possible.

This move solidifies our commitment to the neighborhood and we hope to see more of our neighbors with the addition of weekly social events, many of which will be free to the public.

New classes to be offered this term will include a Saturday morning children’s class and a class in acupressure massage.

The storefront at 6006 Pershing, on the west side of the building, will be occupied by the T’ai Chi Institute of St. Louis. T’ai Chi is a Chinese form of exercise, emphasizing slow, dance-like movements.

Both centers will be stimulating a lot of energy inside the building if you would like to be part of that energy or if you would just like to visit, call 726-5133 or 862-7284.
