Second Issues Seminar Planned

November 1977

From The Times Archives

The second Skinker-DeBaliviere Issues Seminar will be held on November 7 at Grace and Peace Fellowship Church (6003 Kingsbury), 7:30 to 9:30 PM. It’s not necessary for you to have attended the first session in order for you to observe or participate at the second session. (Likewise, if you can’t make this one, you’re welcome to attend the third session on December 5; same place, same time.) Everyone is urged to attend the seminars since all — parent and nonparent — have a vested interest in education and its impact in our community.

The seminars use a format which enables participants (educators, parents, and non-parents) to talk about issues and ask questions in a constructive problem-solving manner.

The seminars have been used in various public school settings, but never before with an urban communtiy group.

We hope that the result of this seminar activity will be closer cooperation and better communication between all the parties involved.

The seminars are sponsored by the Skinker-DeBaliviere Community Council.
