Dr. Brooks Ramsey who has been pastor at Delmar Baptist Church for the past 2½ years will be leaving on May 31 for a new position,
The Royal Lane Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. The Royal Lane Church is located in the suburbs and has a membership somewhat larger than Delmar Baptist. In spite of its suburban locale, Dr. Ramsey says the church is involved in many city activities and is active in the city ecumenical movement.
Although Dr. Ramsey is looking forward to the challenge of his new position, he views his years at Delmar Baptist with a sense of pleasure. The high points of his ministry here he feels lie in the friendships he has made and in his involvement in community programs. Of his time at Delmar Baptist he says, “I have enjoyed being a part of the community, and I hope I have made a contribution.”
A successor to Dr. Ramsey has not yet been found, but a committee has been appointed to search for a replacement.
Dr. Ramsey leaves Delmar Baptist officially on May 31, however, his last sermon will be preached on May 7.
