Plans recently were unveiled for the undeveloped site at DeBaliviere and DeGiverville, 275 DeBaliviere.
The owners of this site, who also own the DeBaliviere Mall, plan a multipurpose development. Commercial stores or offices would be located on the ground level.
On the second floor, nine apartments, each with two bedrooms, and approximately 1000 square feet, would be located.
The developers and architect have met with neighbors on 5700 DeGiverville and 5700 Waterman.
These residents previously successfully fought a proposed Walgreen’s at that site.
The developers responded to the neighbors’ concerns.
Residents in turn feel this is the most positive development yet proposed for the site.
The next step is a hearing before the Board of Adjustment. Site owners feel that the additional development at 275 DeBaliviere will create a critical mass that will encourage greater occupancy at the existing mall. •
