Third grade RIT students combined reading skills and reading for meaning by following the directions for plant propagation. The result was 15 new wandering jew plantlets which will be for sale at the Art Fair. Remember, we will have a wellstocked booth on May 8 with many varieties of plants. If you can contribute time and/or plants, please call Mrs. Sue Tepas, 862-3783. We hope to see you at our. booth.

We would like to thank all who participated in our PTA pot luck dinner on April 27. We feel it was enjoyed by all and was very successful. Look for the announcement of the date of the last PTA meeting of the year, to be scheduled this month.

Please be kind and indulge your sweet tooth when Hamilton 3 children and parents ask you to buy the delicious candy that we are selling. Salesmanship is highly motivated since the first prize winner will get a shiny new bicycle. We need your help because the profit from the sale will go into our school fund to provide more enriching and interesting activities for our children.

Students have been sharing with each other all year and now we have students sharing their parents. Several parents have come to Room 201 to explain their professions to the students who are participating in a career awareness unit. We will give you a list of our celebrity parents later. Room 102 had the thrill of an eagle kite which was brought to school by Leslie Lloyd. He explained how his father (our school mailman) had assembled it. Mr. Lloyd is certainly admired as he comes daily to our school.

We would like to invite you to see the beautiful spring murals created by the students of Room 102. Their room is certainly a springtime herald with tissue daffodils (copied from real ones brought by Allison Stuart) and lilies.

Our students have made great academic progress this year. Room 102 has successfully raced to reading and are now in the last book for first grade. Room 202, along with most other groups, are now in their last books as well. Hamilton Br. 3 still offers a great education as evidenced by test scores and students performance, thanks to the combined efforts of teachers, principal, and you, our wonderful parents. See you next month as we prepare to close school.
