Cohen Files for Comptroller(英文)

1977年2月

此内容暂无简体中文译文,以下为英文原文。

Ken Cohen, a long time West End resident and Rosedale home owner, is running for Comptroller of the City of St. Louis. Ken filed because he believes, as the recent audits by the State show, that government is wasting vast amounts of financial and human resources. Ken feels our citizens, our neighborhoods and our businesses deserve more for our tax money. The Comptroller is the chief fiscal officer of the city. He is responsible for: 1) the proper accounting and reporting of taxes; 2) auditing the financial records of all city offices; 3) determining the efficiency of all city offices; 4) the management of the city’s computer systems; 5) deciding how tax dollars are spent as a member of the Board of Estimate and Apportionment.

Ken has spent the past twelve years working for Glasco Electric. Company, one of the largest wholesale distributors of electrical products in the United States. His experience includes the planning, programming and management of their computer systems, management of all internal operations and pension funds, and negotiation of labor contracts. Currently, as Vice-President of Glasco, he is responsible for keeping each company department within its budgetary limits; thus he works with the department heads to evaluate current systems of operation and assists in the development of new systems to increase productivity.

Ken has been involved in politics and community activities for many years. He is a member of the 28th Ward Democrats. He served as President of the Rosedale Neighborhood Association for two years, served on the Board of the Skinker-De Baliviere Community Council and, currently, is on the Board of West End Townhouse, Inc.
