The 28th Ward Regular Democrats host a Christmas gathering each December, generally in a popular watering hole in the ward.

This year, party organizers picked a more unusual locale.

They selected 3rd Degree Glass, a glass manufacturing venue at 52xx Delmar. Glass is hand-blown there and beautiful bowls, paperweights and other items are for sale. Ward regulars and many new faces came out on a cold and blustery night to party with friends and investigate the glass-blowing operation. Many gathered around to see new objects being formed and a goodly number purchased items for Christmas giving.

The glass blowing fire provided additional warmth to the partygoers who also enjoyed food from the Dove Cafe and libation.

Some noted guests made an appearance. Mayor Slay dropped by with his wife as did Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce. Alderman Lyda Krewson welcomed her colleagues Steve Gregali and Jennifer Florida. License Collector Gregg Daly also enjoyed the festivities. Committee-people Lu Green and Joe Keaveny mingled with former Mayor Schoemehl, past alderman Dan McGuire, and Dee Joyce Hayes.

The Poor People of Paris provided music and everyone sighed to La Vie en Rose. Gregory Smith and Tricia Roland organized the very successful festivities.
