Arts Council Has Note Cards

November 1988

Historical November 1988 report or notice. Original dates, prices and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

Just in time for Christmas, the West End Arts Council has for sale a limited number of boxed note cards that feature full color reproductions of art works by area artists.

The brainchild of President Polly O’Brien, the note cards are a fund raising venture for the Arts Council.

The cover of each card depicts the work of an artist who lives or works in our neighborhood.

The artists and the works they generously allowed WEAC to reproduce include: Ken Anderson, “Barrier”; Bill Christman “de Bitzko’s”; Bill Kohn “The Famous Passover”; Phil Roberts “Back Yard”; Kate Rosenbloom/Kenneth Anderson “Flesh Fire”; and John Rozelle “Sentinel III:’ The inside of the cards are blank, so they can be used for any occasion.

The cards are packaged 12 to a box, two of each of the six designs, with 12 envelopes.

They sell for $10.

The cards may be purchased from any WEAC board member and are also available at the SDCC office. WEAC hopes to have them in a few local retail stores and at upcoming holiday bazaars so please look for them.

The West End Arts Council is a not-forprofit corporation whose mission is to promote the arts & artists in our area. WEAC sponsors events like Art Exposed, children’s programs, and an annual concert series. WEAC is supported by grants from the Regional Arts Commission; grant monies must be matched with private donations. Proceeds from the note cards will help the Arts Council match its 88-89 RAC grant.
