Over the past few months the SDCC Office (6008 Kingsbury) had a makeover and is ready for operations and community use.
The makeover included a major clean-out, painting, new flooring, procuring new furniture and chairs, as well as a start to improving/enhancing of our IT updates. Much more is planned including: • A community art gallery • Regular coffee and donuts • A community space for work and Internet Access. • More events and activities The space is intended to be a space for the community to gather and host activities. Have a book club? Want a Movie night? Want to offer a class or seminar for neighbors – let us know!
As of the first week in June, the Office will open for limited hours with volunteers. Once the SDCC Project/Office Manager is on board, we will have regular hours. Keep an eye on the website for planned hours or they will be posted in the window. Upcoming events: • SDCC Board Meeting: June 10th at 7:00 PM Second Mondays of the month and open to all residents. Agenda varies based on topics of the month. Go to the SDCC website for Agenda. • Skinker-DeBalivere Dog Show: June 11th at 7:00 PM See our furry friends compete for distinguished titles such as “Fluffiest Dog” and “Pointiest Tail!” • Make Music Concert: June 21st, 6-9 PM at the Four Corners (in front of 6008 Kingsbury) Enjoy an evening of fun and music with neighbors. • Historic District Committee and Cultural Resources Office Overview: July 10th (time TBD), in the SDCC Office Learn about the permit process and requirements and resources for improvements that are unique for our Historic District Neighborhood.
