New House On Pershing

Original printed byline: Lana Stein
New house at 5766 Pershing.

Historical September–October 2016 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

New single family houses in the neighborhood, aside from development on 57xx McPherson, are a rarity. One was built on 61xx Pershing several years ago.

Now a new home is present and for sale on 5766 Pershing. Few probably traverse this block, but it would be worth it to see this new home. Because of the site, the home is long and rather narrow.

However, a tour inside showed me that it doesn’t feel confining.

The large windows add light and a spacious feeling.

There are 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths (and 1/2 bath) and 2119 square feet.

A third floor room could be an office or a TV room and allows exterior access to a patio.

The house’s sight lines conform with the existing structures on either side.

It has automated keyless entry and remote home controls.

The kitchen is gourmet.

The house was designed by architect and creative designer (and St. Roch family!) Kevin Logan. Logan earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Kansas.

He spent his first 10 years at Kennedy Associates, Inc. and TeamFour Architects designing several housing, commercial, retail, daycare, and educational facilities. Kevin works on renovation and new construction projects with X3 Developers and company principal Bernard Whittington. Drive or walk by and check this property out.

It fits in this historic district and offers all modern amenities, including a top floor bonus room and off/bedroom that leads out to a private deck with the best view (the neighborhood plus Forest Park!) on the block To see more, google 5766 Pershing, listed by Coldwell Banker.
