Dog Rescue Inspires

Original printed byline: Tim Smith
Neighbor who entered sewer to rescue dog. Individual not named in printed caption.

Historical November–December 2012 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

At about 8 or 9pm on 12/5/12 the woman pictured came to my door asking for a flash light to be able to see and rescue a young dog that slipped into the sewer in the N. W. corner of Westminster and Rosedale.

It was not on a leash when it was being walked.

It wrangled with another dog being walked also.

The small dog some how fell into the sewer.

A ladder, rope, and more flash lights were brought from other neighbors.

She got a sewer lid lifter, went into the sewer, and the muck, and pulled up the un-injured dog with help from street level.

A rope and a ladder were also brought. 911 had been called, but was canceled.

The subject here is not unleashed animals, but positive neighbor response.
