Historic Preservation

Skinker-DeBaliviere As Historic District

Summer 2012

Historical Summer 2012 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

Our neighborhood has been designated an historic district by the City of St. Louis.

The vast majority of residences were constructed between 1908 and 1908.

To preserve the historic nature, special permits are required when exterior repairs or additions take place.

The SDCC is sponsoring a workshop on June 28 at 6:00 pm at its office, 6008 Kingsbury.

The workshop is free and everyone is encouraged to attend. Historic district requirements will be explained as well as how to obtain permits to perform renovations. Knowing how to conform to historic district standards will prevent costly errors when remodeling.
