Saving Energy In Centennial Homes

Historical Summer 2011 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

Saving energy in centennial homes Ursula Goodenough of the 6100 block of Kingsbury has written that she is interested in retrofitting her home on Kingsbury so that it’s more energy-efficient.

If anyone has already done this with a similar house, she would be most interested to learn what was done, how much it cost, whether anyone found a good contractor, whether the results were or weren’t satisfactory, what you might do differently if you were to start again, and so on.

The TIMES would a good avenue to share these ideas with everyone. Email the TIMES at or email Ursula Goodenough at ursula@biology.wustl.edu. We’ll follow up in the fall with any ideas submitted, and perhaps there may emerge a “best-practice” approach.
