Mark Gorman became a resident of Skinker DeBaliviere when he was eight years old.

He has chosen to spend most of his life in our midst.

He sees the neighborhood as an extended family.

He has degrees from UMSL and the Saint Louis University School of Law but has invested much of his energy in property management and development.

He had worked for McCormack Baron Salazar for eight years before becoming self-employed. Gorman’s goal is to keep the neighborhood affordable and diverse.

He owns the multifamilies clustered around Pershing and Laurel where he resides.

He also owns two six families on Nina Pl. and manages the property of the DeBaliviere Place West Condominium Association on Nina.

He also owns a building at 6036 Washington.

His current project is the rehabilitation of a single family dwelling on Pershing.

To Gorman Skinker DeBaliviere is an ideal place to live.

It is the home place. He’s very happy that he has been able to provide some of the youth jobs working on the units he owns or manages.

He likes to speak of the area as a village.

Finally, he is interested in increasing the level of organization in Washington Heights.
