The first homes in what would become Skinker DeBaliviere were built in 1908. Just three years later, the congregation of St. Roch was formed.

This Roman Catholic Church will celebrate its centennial on September 18, 2011. Mgsr. Polizzi and a committee are working to design appropriate commemorative events.

The church has been a mainstay of the neighborhood since its inception and played a pivotal role in its revival in the 1960s and 70s.

This centennial will be very special for parishioners and all neighbors.
