In our June issue, plans were announced for a revamped building and parking lot at 6108 Delmar, the Shapiros’ former site of the Original Cast Lighting.
The plans elicited several comments by email to the Skinker DeBaliviere Community Council, which passed them along to the City’s Cultural Resources Dept. and their Preservation Commission, through the Delmar Commercial Committee.
The final approval took many concerns into account: the walls around the parking lot will be less severe and the size of the parking lot reduced somewhat to minimize the look of “concrete.” Landscaping and lighting were added as well. Signage for the new retail spaces is still being reviewed.
