Charlie Spoonhour, former basketball coach at SLU, was the entertaining speaker for the 7th District Police luncheon held at the Pageant Theatre, honoring the “Officer of the Year,” as well as each month’s nominated officer.
To his right is Mark Jaffe who organizes these annual events; to his left, Captain Moran, who has moved to a new post in the police department.
Also attending were Chief Dan Isom and new 7th District Captain Sam Dotson. Captain Dotson indicated that the neighborhood would have bicycle patrols this summer and that the district will receive more officers shortly for patrol.
The police forces of University City and St. Louis, as well as Washington University’s security force, are cooperating actively regarding security.
