Andy and Linda Cross, co-chairs, invite you to contribute to the 2007 SDCC Friends of Skinker DeBaliviere Campaign. At the $ 100 + level, you receive invitations to special Friends events, plus a free Skinker-DeBaliviere T-Shirt, with a beautiful new logo designed by Andy Cross, highlighting the themes of “Progress, Diversity, Preservation.” You may also contribute at a $50 family level, $30 individual level, or $20 Seniors and Students level. Additional adult Tshirts are available at $15 each, children’s sizes at $12 each.

The Skinker-DeBaliviere Community Council was founded in 1966 by a thenunique cooperative group of residents and institutions, including St. Roch Catholic Church, Grace Methodist Church, Delmar Baptist Church, Washington University, and Rosedale Neighborhood Assn., Washington Heights Neighborhood Assn., and Parkview. Over the years, almost all of these have continued to play major roles, and additional participants now include Nina Place, Kingsbury Square, and New Cote Brilliante Church.

This past year big changes took place inside the offices at 6008 Kingsbury, including a brand-new executive director, Darcell Braylock, who has hit the ground running with many ideas and a desire to learn from the neighborhood and its residents.

The office renovation has changed our cluttered old gray location into a bright, efficient, and versatile working area, thanks to the help of many neighbors and businesses who donated their time and resources. Stop by and see our new digs and meet our new powerhouse Executive Director. You can help continue and expand the activities of SDCC by contributing to its future.
