The 7th Police District Community Partnership will hold its very first annual recognition luncheon on February 22, 2006, at the Pageant in the Loop. “Officer of the Month” awards will be made, and an “Officer of the Year.” A hot buffet will be served at a very reasonable $15 ticket price. Tables of 10 are available for $150. Radio personality Ed Goodman will MC the luncheon, and Joe Edwards will be one of the speakers. Pageant partner Pat Hagin, serves as president of this new organization, formed in order to promote and recruit businesses into the area.
The organization conducts programs to build morale among police officers by demonstrating the cooperation and appreciation of the businesses and residents served by the police.
It was included, along with six other neighborhood groups, at the launch of an E-Bay concern poster auction last fall. 7th District Police Captain Jim Moran has worked closely with Pageant founders Joe Edwards and Pat Hagin, to build the business/police cooperation that makes police officers feel appreciated and supported and makes the businesses and neighborhood safe.
The luncheon will be the organization’s first time in the 7th District and offers businesses and residents the opportunity to honor and give recognition to those who make the community safer. For tickets or more information, call Mark Jaffe at 367-5650 or Community Relations Officer Tim Kehm at 444-0047.
