Great weather drew a very large turnout for this year’s Operation Brightside Project Blitz cleanup on Saturday, April 4.

The Beautification Committee cruised the alleys with tools and trashbags to offer assistane to the hundreds of neighbors who turned out for the cleanup.

A group of students from the Washington University School of Law picked up leaves, trash and debris in several alleys that had been identified as areas needing attention.

They also broke up and bundled piles of branches which had been dumped in the park at Pershing and Rosedale. Their assistance in these cleanup efforts were very much appreciated.

Some of the alleys they worked on are now cleaner than they have been in many years. Nicole Blumner and friends continued their efforts planting, pruning, and sprucing up the park at Westminster and Pershing. Many neighbors joined us at Four Corners Park for lunch, provided by the Skinker-DeBaliviere Community Council. Thank you to Juanita Wood and her son Robert and to SDCC president Dan Schesch for their help coordinating this event. Thank you to the many block captains and neighbors who did their part plus a little more. Our neighborhood is looking better each year!
