On October 30, 2003, Jennifer Olmstead gave birth to Sarah at 12:29 pm in the friendly urban confines of St. Louis Barnes-Jewish Hospital. At birth the little tyke clocked in at a dainty 9 lbs., 7 oz., and was 21 inches long. Although delivery was a long and winding road, mother and daughter are recuperating nicely. Jennifer is already talking about convincing Sarah to ride along in Jennifer’s next marathon. Dad, is ok too and thrilled at the demographic shift taking place in the household. By the way, Dad is Brady Baybeck, UMSL Assistant Professor of Political Science and Public Policy Administration. Mom Jennifer is a member of both the Skinker-DeBaliviere Housing Corporation and the Delmar Commercial Committee.
Her “other job” is with the Regional Parks and Recreation District. Jessica Forsyth and Chris Simon of the 5900 block of Pershing welcomed Miles, born June 16, 2003. Chris works at a private school in Webster Groves; Jessica works with AIDS patients at Children’s Hospital. Miles joins older brother Pablo, now three years old. Bryan and Candace Marshall also have a second child, Evan, born on May 1, 2003, joining 2 year old daughter, Autumn.
The Marshalls live on the 5900 block of Kingsbury. Candace is a busy full-time mom; Bryan is an UMSL Polical Scientist.
On the 6000 block of McPherson, Meredith Joan McWilliams was born on September 1, 2003, first child of Sean McWilliams and Karin Hageman. Karin is a planner with Development Strategies, Inc. Jessica Forsyth and Chris Simon of 59xx Pershing welcomed Miles, born June 16, 2003. Miles joins older brother Pablo, 3.
On the 6100 block of Westminster, Amrit and Amy Gill are celebrating the birth of their fourth child, Annie, making two boys and two girls for the busy Gills.
Also on Westminster, Sean and Christina (Fleener) McGroarty are proud parents of their third child, Joseph, joining big brothers Sean and Brendan. Christina’s mom, Mary, is recovering from major surgery and still undergoing treatment.
We wish her all the best, along with our best wishes to her colleague and former neighborhood resident Susie Feinberg, of Feinberg Real Estate, who also had to undergo major surgery this past month and is doing very well. Former Parkview Neighbor Ann Horner got her law degree and passed the bar. Ann and Bob now live in Lafayette Square, but are frequently in the neighborhood to visit daughter Laura, recently married and living on Waterman. Congratulations to Ann on a tremendous accomplishment! Parkview’s Peggy Droege reports that her son Andrew is now happily a student at the San Francisco Art Institute, but welcomes photos from home, in fact, often painting from them. And we have to say goodbye to very long-time Parkview Neighbors Ed and Dorothy Gotway, who have moved to Ballwin near their daughter Laurie. Ed and Dorothy were stalwart St. Roch parents whose children Wendy, Laurie, Amy and John were involved in so many activities through their school years.
These steadiest of friends will be missed. Parkview held their annual Fall Picnic on Saturday, Oct. 18th in Pershing Park.
A good time was had by all with plenty of food and good friends enjoying a beautiful St. Louis fall day.
The children in attendance had a wonderful time with face painting, clowns, a wonderful Juggling act, and a number of blow-up activities for Jumping and sliding on. Among the past and present Parkview residents who attended was Jenny and Ted Fanson’s grandson 3 1/2 year-old Sam Doss, shown here having an artistic face painting. Sam’s mother is Danielle Fanson Doss.
