Neighborhoodwide yard sales and an open air lunch counter have been annual occurrences in Skinker DeBaliviere for a number of years.
This year, on August 23, Tim Schoemehl, president of Rosedale Neighbors, and a sizeable crew of volunteers made the event happen once again. Fortyfive people held sales, either in their yards or at one of several joint locations. Neighbors and strangers stopped at the WestminsterSkinker parking lot to get their brats or hot dogs, chips, and soda.
The event raised funds for the Rosedale group and the SDCC and everyone seemed to be having a good time.
It was interesting to see cars with outof-state plates cruising around, no doubt Wash U students trying to furnish an apartment.
