Summer began officially in Skinker-DeBaliviere with the 4th Annual Breakfast Garden Tour on Saturday, June 8, 2002. Beginning with the breakfast treats from Great Harvest Bread Company and coffee from Genesis House Coffee, this year ten private gardens on the 6000 and 6100 blocks of Waterman, Pershing, and McPherson were on tour.

The limited area made for easy walking and viewing, so visitors and neighbors could see each one of the beautiful gardens so generously shared.

These were the featured gardens for 2002: Pershing: • Shelly and John Parker and Betty Goebl • Germaine Murray and the Rosedale Condo Association Waterman: • Monsignor Sal Polizzi of St. Roch’s McPherson: • Rachel and Matt Boxdorfer • Jerry, Karen, and Colin McClure • Jim Parrot and Fran Schmoker • Ellen Leathers and John Dahl • Jeff and Michelle Pike • Tim and Pattie Voss • Julie and Jim Schoemehl
