John and Sole Van Emden have mentioned that Bi-State representatives are scheduled to present to the MetroLink Extension Station Committees the first look at preliminary station plans for the several stations including the Forest Park and Skinker Stations on Tuesday, July 18. You may wish to note this date on your calendar, the place and time for the meeting have not yet been determined, they will let us know as soon as it is. John and Sole, Dan McGuire, and Brian Witherspoon (residents of the 6000 block of Pershing, 6100 block of Westminster, and 5800 block of Waterman respectively) are Skinker-DeBaliviere residents appointed by the city to the MetroLink station design committee for both the Forest Park (DeBaliviere) and Skinker stations last year. Sole is also the Rosedale Neighborhood Association’s PershingWaterman representative on the Council.
Also on the committee is Alderman Lyda Krewson, and Susan Goodman representing Washington University. Note: We are unsure at this time how much time will be allotted at that meeting for public comment.
But in any case, after viewing the designs and hearing the presentation, please express your concerns or interests to the committee members so that they can relay them to Bi-State. Depending on the content of the meeting on July 18, the Transportation Committee of the Council will consider holding a follow-up meeting a few weeks later to which Bi-State representatives would be invited and at which residents will be able to ask questions and make comments.
