On Sunday, May 28, family and friends of Kathleen Hamilton gathered at Pagoda Circle by the MUNY in Forest Park to dedicate a plaque in her honor.

She was cited as a strong supporter of the park and of the Central West End area. Sue Clancy delivered remarks on behalf of Forest Park Forever and former mayor Vince Schoemehl spoke of her tremendous commitment to neighborhood-building. Hamilton had been a founder of Central West End Bank and a strong proponent of the Community Reinvestment Act that mandated that banks invest In central cities. Guests at the dedication drank a glass of champagne to a warm and wonderful woman who had given so much of herself to neighborhood and city.
