Joe Edwards has received the necessary permits to construct the Pageant on Delmar. Ground preparation has begun.
A groundbreaking ceremony is anticipated in mid- to late-February. Edwards still hopes that the formal opening of the nightclub will be in September.
In the meantime, a tenant has been secured for the office space on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Pageant building. Kiku Obata & Company have signed a lease with Edwards. Obata said that, “We chose this location because it offers our firm access to the thriving neighborhood of The Loop, reinforces our commitment to building vibrant retail areas in St. Louis, and offers us more space to grow our expanding business. Kevin Flynn, architect with the firm, added We also want to support Joe in his efforts to revitalize University City and St. Louis.
The Pageant will be a dynamic music venue, unique to the region.” Kiku Obata & Company will design the identity, print communications, interiors of the club, office space, and signage for the Pageant.
The company specializes in architectural, interior, graphic, environmental graphic and lighting design.
In addition, you might watch for a new restaurant with a prominent owner to be developed on the north side of Delmar east of the Wabash Station.
