Where Did Those Big Blocks Come From?

November–December 1998

Historical November–December 1998 article. Dates, prices, services and contacts describe the source period; current availability has not been established.

The giant letter blocks which are on the location of the new playground were provided by the West End Arts Council of Skinker DeBaliviere as part of a sculpture project funded by the Regional Arts Commission.

They are made entirely of reclaimed lumber. Andy Cross designed the blocks and brought them to Crossroads School last spring, where students turned them into works of art.

The moveable sculpture serves as an announcement of and logo for the playground.
