After careful consideration and much sadness. the Administrative Council of Grace United Methodist Church has found it necessary to close the Pre-School at the end of the 1997-1998 school year. Grace Pre-School opened in Sep, tember of 1962 as one of the first early childhood facilities in this area. Over the years literally hundreds of young children have benefited from the exceptional quality education and care offered at Grace.
With an increase in both public and private elementary schools now offering early childhood programs and more Federal funding being appropriated to corporations offering on site day-care. our enrollment has slowly been declining. Grace Pre-School would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the past and present families, directors (Mrs. Barbara McCoy. Mrs. Betty Klinefelter, Mrs. Dolores Hoefel, and Mrs. Katherine Fimmano). teachers. board members, volunteers, and friends who helped make our Pre-School such a wonderful success over the past 36 years. Our biggest thanks, of course, go to the children!
A farewell reception will be held in Fellowship Hall at Grace United Methodist Church on Sunday, May 3, at 12:15 p.m.
All are welcome.
