For the second year, the Skinker DeBaliviere Community Council sponsored a luncheon for the police officers of the 7’h district. Betty Newsham of 61xx Kingsbury coordinated this event along with SDCC Director Laure Porterfield. Many neighbors assisted in this project. Along with Newsham, Ruth Johnson, Lois Schoemehl, and Lana Stein helped array the food that many donated. Captain Harry B. Hegger, the Commander of the Seventh District, wrote Porter field thanking Council members and neighbors who made this event possible.
